Models run thousands of scenarios. Forecasts move by the hour. Markets shift, resources stretch, and every path closes a different door. The machine surfaces risks nobody had the hours to find and lays every road out on the dashboard — and none of that decides anything. Someone still has to choose which future survives, knowing what it costs.
The song is precise about where the line falls. The machine can predict tomorrow; it cannot choose who you become. Every shortcut leaves a cost behind, every timeline has a consequence, and the only useful question is what you are willing to sacrifice. That is not a computation, it is a commitment, and commitments have owners.
As the EP’s opener it sets the terms for everything after: this is not a record about being replaced. It is about the decision getting materially better because both halves are in the room — thousands of futures modelled, one chosen by someone who will live with it.
